When health science-focused Thomas Jefferson University merged with Philadelphia University— the former Philadelphia College of Textiles, known for its fashion program—it struck many as a nonsensical combination.The common thread we unearthed was a transdisciplinary, experiential and community-minded approach to professional education and research that is truly breakthrough in the current higher-education landscape.
